CYQ Certificate in Personal Training, Level 3
"The core competencies for a successful career in Personal Training"
The Central YMCA Qualification (CYQ) Certificate in Personal Training, Level 3, was updated in 2007 to reflect the new national standards. Core course modules take into account today’s environment and make it one of the most industry relevant qualifications available. The Certificate is recognised by the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) at Level 3.

ENROLMENT
Each course module can also be completed as a stand-alone qualification. However, if you book and enrol for the full Certificate in Personal Training you will receive a discount of £85 on the cost of the last module you take (excluding Advanced Fitness Instruction - Gym). You can book the full Certificate by enrolling online or by contacting the YMCA Office. For details of other payment methods contact the YMCA Office (see also Enrolment). Please note: to qualify for the discount, all five course modules must be completed within 12 months - unless paid for in full, the cost of individual modules will be at the current annual price.

TARGET CANDIDATES
This course is designed for:
- Fitness Instructors who are seeking to work towards the CYQ Certificate in Personal Training
- Those who wish to deliver progressive exercise programmes
- Gym Instructors or Fitness Supervisors who are seeking to enhance their qualifications
- Those who are already working as Personal Trainers but who lack a recognised qualification
PREREQUISITES
Candidates must be aged 18 or over and must already hold:
- Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instruction or equivalent
- Note: if applying for the full Certificate in Personal Training, candidates must hold a Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instruction
- NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Exercise & Fitness Knowledge
- Candidates should provide evidence of ongoing industry experience
