Ten Sing Volunteer Youth Worker
Ten Sing performing arts groups are FOR young people and run BY young people. However, a volunteer is required.
The Volunteer needs to be able to:
- Run evening youth sessions involving local teenagers in dance, drama and other creative activities (weekly in term time)
- Plan sessions, manage groups of children, lead dance and singing lessons
- Plan for, prepare and support the youth groups, and attend concerts around Cambridgeshire and the country
- Manage groups of young people (with another person 18+)
- Take responsibility for the tuck shop and venue keys
- Organise occasional local events, eg a “Variety Show” and outings
- Liaise with the YMCA contact person regarding participation in various Ten Sing events - local/national/international (eg concerts, festivals, tours)
When required: to start in September, but we will accept later if September is too early.
Skills and qualifications
- Enthusiasm for young people
- Interest in the performing arts, and preferably some ability in music/singing
- Committed Christian preferable, though must have a sympathy for the faith
